Today was a day of mixed experiences. As head of publicly listed company, I had to deal with a computer virus which disabled me to access my Outlook files and restricted me from directing the company.
Raymond’s incessant work and interference made up for the handicap and inconvenience.
His perseverance, sleep deprivation and willingness to help has been remarkable and impressive.
At 2315 central european time, early morning Melbourne, Raymond had fixed the problem and enabled me to resume work after 24 hrs.

Now this is IT Support…….
I am a IT Project Manager in Sydney about to cut over to a new network providers router. I have no technical staff on the ground in Melbourne. It’s a simple cable change… you know, unplug one, plug it into the other. The only staff member I have in the office is the Melbourne Director. I request him to make the cut over.
This done, I now ping the router.. nothing, no reply, no reply, no reply.. oh dear… this is not going well.
I now request him to reverse what he had done and put things back as they were. With this done, we now have the entire network down, LAN included, oh dear… this is not going well. It is 3:00Pm on the 8th January, most normal people are on Christmas leave, and the office re-opens on Monday… who can help me.. oh dear… this is not going well. I start calling all the people I know.. Nothing, nobody around… right , Google it is… start trawling the web.. this is going to take hours..I type IT Support, Consulting, Melbourne, LAN … looking though the results I see on page 1, “Managed IT solutions, IT services, consulting, support, Melbourne”, bingo…
I double click the link, ITtelligent.com.au, I see the phone number on the front page (… now this is promising). I call, it answers in 3 rings, I speak to a chap describing my dilemma, he says ”no problems, give me your details & I will have someone contact you”. Five minutes pass, my phone rings, Robert Adelman the Director of ITtelligent is on the line. It is now 4:00pm, I start describing my dilemma, he says ”OK I can be there at 8:00Am tomorrow, we are only 10mins from your office” I said “Thank you God !!”.Friday morning, 8:00Am my phone rings, Robert is on site and discussing what he sees and what needs to be done. At 8:30Am the Melbourne Director arrives and is told everything is fixed.
